Central heat recovery
One unit in the plant room ventilates the whole house. It supplies fresh air to the living room and bedrooms, extracts used air from the bathroom, WC and kitchen — and passes its heat on to the fresh air.
How it works
Air flows through the house in one direction — from the living spaces towards the extract points.
Extracted at the source
Humidity and odours are extracted directly from the bathroom, WC and kitchen.
The heat exchanger transfers the heat
Outgoing and fresh air pass each other separately. The heat passes through, the air does not mix.
Fresh air goes where you are
Pre-warmed air flows into the living room and bedrooms — without draughts.
Runs constantly, quietly
The unit is in the plant room. Output can be turned down at night and up when you have guests.
When it suits
Suits you when
- you are building a new house or doing a major renovation
- you can route ductwork into a suspended ceiling, floor or ceiling
- you have space for the unit — plant room, attic, walk-in wardrobe
- you want to ventilate the whole house with one unit
Things to bear in mind
- ductwork is cheapest to install during the shell construction
- installation in a finished house is more demanding
- filters need to be replaced regularly
- the house should be sufficiently airtight
What output you need
Approximate output of a heat recovery unit for your house.
Approximate: the higher of the two values — exchanging half the air volume per hour, or 25 m³/h per person. We produce the exact design according to the rooms and how they are used.
How the installation works
Design
Based on the floor plan we design supply and extract points, duct routes and the unit output.
Ductwork
The ducts are laid in the floor, ceiling or suspended ceiling — ideally during the shell construction.
during constructionUnit installation
We install the unit in the plant room and connect it to the ductwork and the condensate drain.
Commissioning
We balance the airflow to each room and show you how to operate the system.

What you ask us
Can I open windows with heat recovery ventilation?
Yes, you can open windows. Heat recovery ventilates by itself, though, so you will not need to in winter.
How often are the filters replaced?
Depending on the environment in which the house stands — usually once or twice a year.
Will heat recovery replace air conditioning?
No. Heat recovery exchanges the air; it does not significantly cool the house. Cooling is provided by the heat pump via the floor or ceiling panels.
Can you hear the unit?
The unit stands in the plant room, and in the rooms you only hear a gentle flow of air from the vents. We design the ductwork so that the airflow is quiet.
Can central heat recovery be retrofitted to a finished house?
Yes, but it is more demanding — the ductwork has to be routed in suspended ceilings. For renovations, decentralised heat recovery is usually simpler.
