Boiler Upgrade Scheme
The government's main heat pump grant. You get a fixed £7,500 discount on an air source heat pump — your installer handles the paperwork.
How much you get
Fixed grant for an air-to-water heat pump. Off-gas homes heated by oil or LPG can get £9,000 until March 2027.
The calculation is indicative. The scheme manager decides.
How to get the grant
Find an MCS installer
Ask for a heat loss survey and a quote for your home.
Installer applies
The installer submits the voucher application to Ofgem on your behalf.
Confirm with Ofgem
Ofgem contacts you to confirm you agree with the application.
Installation
The heat pump must be commissioned within 120 days of the application.
Discount on the invoice
The installer redeems the voucher and you pay the price minus the grant.

What you ask us
Is the grant paid to me?
No. It goes to the installer and you simply pay less.
Can businesses apply?
Yes, owners of small non-domestic buildings in England and Wales can use the scheme too.
Is there a size limit?
The scheme is meant for homes and small buildings; very large systems are not covered. Your installer will check this.
We will help you with the grant
We design the heat pump for your home, calculate the savings and the price after the grant, and help you with the application.
